Chinese/ Indian clothing

Post by Matney » Sun, 04 Jun 2006 6:44 pm

Planning to visit the relatives and thought I might take with me some of the nice looking Chinese tops or Indian tops as gifts. Any suggestions where I could locate these. Specific places in China town or Little India which would be the obvious places.
My Mom is in a home and a larger woman, that something like this might cheer her up, any other suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks!

For oriental tops, you can try Yue Hwa at Chinatown, just above the Chinatown MRT station, at the road junction, it stocks up a great variety of tops.

As for Little India, don't think I can help much..perhaps Mustafa? :)

Hi there,

for the indian clothing i found the best place to be Mustafa. Any place in little India sells it, but Mustafa has proper fitting rooms and AC, and you don't need to bargain as the prices are fix and reasonable. They also have some chinese tops, definitely larger sizes available.
For souvenirs: Check out the the table runners and pillow covers at the same floor as the ladies clothes department and the spices one floor down. Allways a success.

Sorry to stay in one thread - I got my longet handled shopping bag in OG on Orchard on the 4th floor(household department) , but it is few months back, so don't know if they still have them. It looks almost like a real bag for airline travel (just much flimsier) so not the red wire one - way too short for me.

Hope this helps

Thanks for your suggestions from both threads. I've never been to Mustafa, so that should be a treat! I would have never of though of OG for a trolley. I'll put that on my list of things to do this week! Thanks.
