Post by bobdog » Sat, 03 Jun 2006 7:26 pm

Hi all, I've this 3 over years old, 15" Compaq LCD monitor which just konked up. Just wondering whether it's worthwhile to get it repaired or purchase a new one. Advises very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

by the time you pay for transport & cost of repairs it will almost be the cost of a brand new LCD monitor. Just because it's compaq doesn't mean compaq made the LCD. They just put their name on it. If it's a 15" monitor a new one can be had for S$350-400. Just doesn't make sense to repair it to me. Buy a new 17" for 600-700.

Just get a new one, monitors are not worth repairing.

Thanks guys! Appreciate your advises. Just feel sad to dispose off this unit that looks practically new and matches with the speakers & keyboard :(
