Best local food guide in Singapore

Post by nightassassin » Fri, 02 Jun 2006 1:00 pm

I have came across a website so would like to introduce it to all the fellow members here.

http://www.livetoeat.com.sg

This website features most of the famous local food found in the hawker centres. It goes according to the mrt station. Heard they have published this book. Hopefully can find it in the bookstore.

What a crappy site (and tip: promoting "Claypot Live Frog" probably isn't all that appealing to most readers here).

Inside, bow before the shrine of the one true gourmet site Makansutra. I especially like their i-mode site for mobile phones, you can punch up your location and it'll show you everything nearby, complete with pictures and maps (!).

I found it not too bad. I think it's very useful. Well-designed. Keep it up!

But c'mon, the coverage is useless. Punch in Novena and what do you get? "Mini Steamboat", "2nd Mini Steamboat" and one of the Balestier Rd bak kut teh joints. No Wee Nam Kee chicken rice, none of the tau sar piah places on Balestier, none of the Japanese restaurants (Kandagawa, Matsuo etc)... do you need pay for a listing to get onto the site? :o
