Post by solarv » Fri, 02 Jun 2006 11:43 am

I'm looking for a cheap store selling decorative stuffs, room refresher,...all those small little craps...Anyone knows if we have any store like this in Singapore? 1-dollar store? 5-dollar store?

$1 shops

There is one down at Parkway Parade basement, next to the food court, selling $1 stuff like cups, pens, air fresheners, water bottles etc.

You may also try Toa Payoh Central, there are a lot of shops selling $1 items. Most neighbourhood estates will have a few of these shops.

Is it like a run down place or a cozy place like IKEA?

like,stationary,household items,hardwares.

The ones especially down at the HDB estates definitely do not have nice decor, but they are neatly packed into shelves or boxes.

Those in the shopping malls would be slightly better off in terms of decor.

But no worries, they are not as bad. What's more important is that you can get ur stuff at a $1. \:D/

I'd suggest doubling your budget and heading to one of the Daiso $2 stores. There's a huge one in IMM (Jurong East), not sure about other outlets.. anyway, the stuff is all Japanese-sourced (but of course made in China), so the quality and design are generally quite a bit better than the $1 stuff, and the store is quite comfortable to browse in.

or go to Bugis.
Cross the road and head toward the open space mall.
Plenty of cheap stuffs there and also there are several
shopping malls there.( Funan and other malls )
Walk around 1st.Do a checking.
If not go to Toa Payoh MRT station, near there is a
valuedollar shop,just opposite of NTUC

Can't agree further, and highly recommended. :)
