Hi all? Me, my wife and my 1 yr old daughter are relocating to Singapore in two weeks time and we have been researching through the web on a lot of things. One of them is places to live. We have a budget of SG$1800 for a spacious 2 bedroom apartment. We want to stay in an area where it is not too busy and away from the city centre but still easy to move around to. We like Bukit Batok/Bukit Gombak area as it have all that we need ie, MRT, shopping centre, much quieter than the city, some say the air is fresher and have more rain. We are eyeing a few apartment in the area such as "The Jade", "The Dew" and "Guilin View". Have anybody got any experience living in the area or these apartments? I have such a bad headache thinking about this. Once I land, i need to start viewing the apartments and get one quick. Cheers!

I have a friend who lives at The Jade, from your list, I feel that The Jade is definitely the best choice, it's located next to the Bt Batok MRT (or Bt gombak?), Westmall, supermarkets..Guilin View is quite far away from anything except the hill.

yea... I am leaning towards The Jade as well as it is near the MRT and the mall. The Dew isn't bad either, but i am still not sold on the area yet. How's your friend's experience living in the area/apartment?
Bunty, 1800 is the max for our budget. If we could get less that's fantastic, but if we could get a really great 2 bedders for 1800 that's fine.

Another place is the west coast, those condos near the west coast park is great and the park is less crowded than east coast park.
