Just arrived in Singapore. Apologies if this topic has been covered in detail before.

Aside from Alliancefrancais and Singapore Arts House can anyone recommend anywhere to see independent and arthouse cinema?

Here's a good starting point: Singapore Rebel

If you mean actual movie theaters, Cathay has by far the most eclectic lineup of Singapore's major chains, including lots of R-21 uncut movies that Shaw/Golden Village don't touch, and fairly often hosts various quirky movie festivals.

No, that part is different - the only advertising (if you can call it that) is at most 2-3 coming attractions, i.e. new movies that will be released...
