Advice: Suburbs to stay if working in New Tech Park

I'm gonna be moving to Singapore in July and my new place of employment is at Lorong Chuan, New Tech Park.

Now i've managed to figure out online that it's located near the NE12 Serangoon and / or NS17 Bishan MRT station (correct me if i'm wrong).

So i was just kind of wondering where to start looking for a place to rent, seeing that i'm a single, in my late 20s and a student of life.

I'm looking for a place that is vibrant with decent restaurants, bars etc, and at the same time close enough to an MRT startion for convinience.

I would welcome any suggestions on suburbs to look at and even names of buildings to check out if possible.

Check out places around serangoon gardens, Yio Chu kang area, Kovan.

the places are pretty ok. Getting into town is also pretty convenient.

Your building is in a very family-orientated, residential area. There are condos within walking distance, but not much in the way of nightlife. Perhaps you'd consider a little closer to town, to be nearer bars/restaurants/cinemas and other entertainment.

Depending on your hours and budget, a cab from Orchard is $6.50 - $8 and just 10 minutes off-peak using the CTE.

Conversely, if you live close to your office, getting to and from town is easy and comparatively cheap. Good luck.
