enquries on flight attendant qualifications

hey hey!!

Was just browsing and suddenly came across this forum. This forum is really interesting and helpful. =) by the way, i have a few enquries on how to be a flight attendant, hopefully someone kind will answer my questions.

1. i'm graduating end of this year, so when will be the most appropriate time to apply for position in cabin crew? how long does the application-interview-training process take?

2. Is posture a main criteria SIA is looking for? because i hunch a lil'.

3. is there a requirement that stewardess must have a good eye sight? i wear contact lenses, and am quite short sighted,,say bout 600 per eye?will it pose a problem?

Lastly, was just wondering, if i'm so lucky to be chosen to be an air hostess with SIA, is accomodation in Singapore provided? this is bcz i stay in KL..

Ans: once u hv graduate, u would be able to apply for the position..

2. Is posture a main criteria SIA is looking for? because i hunch a lil'.

Ans: POSTURE.. they really concern bout the crew posture,body language, appearence and etc..

3. is there a requirement that stewardess must have a good eye sight? i wear contact lenses, and am quite short sighted,,say bout 600 per eye?will it pose a problem?

Ans: it ok..cos during flite i wear contacts too,but gonna let u noe first it gonna be very drying for long haul flight.and its not good for the eye!

Lastly, was just wondering, if i'm so lucky to be chosen to be an air hostess with SIA, is accomodation in Singapore provided? this is bcz i stay in KL..

Ans: at times they hv the recruitment drive in KL u can apply there..

do browse thier website regularly.. hope this will help

as I know they provide hostel stay during the training period. but for futher information you can obtain from the SIA crews who are from KL

by the way, you can actually read the previous post in the SIA topic because the questions you're asking have been repeated alot of times and they're a few posts that link up together, which will provide you a better understanding.

as far as I know SIA only provide 1 week accomodation, then you are on your own.
