A unique anomaly caused by geography. =)

taxico, I didn't catch on to what you were on about until I tried to do a search of the first line on Google. Actually, I got it via email and not from his site. As a matter of fact it would appear that we both got it around the same time. But, having said that, his is a darn good site and always has been.

The Perfect Antidote, SMS :-)

Post by Dave Magoo » Sat, 20 Jun 2009 10:22 pm

Have just read this whilst simultaneously watching the British Lions getting creamed by the Springboks on the Australian Network in the company of a particularly chuffed Bok...I need all the help I can get at this point :shock:

Having done a fair number of biz trips to Jakarta recently, I had to chuckle at No. 47 in particular :lol:

Cheers SMS for making the drubbing that little bit less painful :-D

21. Most or all of these acronyms make sense to you: NUS; NTU; ERP; SDU;
PAP; MRT; LKY; GCT; PRC; TIBS; SBS; SMS; JB; JBJ; AMK; AYE; PIE; ECP; ISD;
ISA; 5 C's; CPF; CHIJMES; SPG; CWO.

22. You use too many acronyms when you talk, or you create new ones.
Amazingly I have found an acronym that is NOT used in Singapore:
"GFC" is used by the Aussie Press to refer to the Great Financial Crisis... I was a bit thrown when a friend used it in a conversation with me!

Some years ago I was doing a very extensive TV commercial shoot over in the Army training grounds in Lim Chu Kang. We had a kiwi Director of Photography (DOP - hah! I can use acronyms too!) who has never worked in Singapore before. After 9 days of traveling to and fro from the hotel he was staying in in River Valley Road to Lim Chu Kang he finally pulled me aside and asked me, "Where the hell is this pie that I keep seeing signs for?"
"Both politicians and nappies need to be changed regularly, and for the same reasons."
