I need some tips on legs! help!

Post by yadayadaa » Wed, 17 May 2006 6:34 pm

Hi everyone! I would like to ask if you guys have any tips for getting nice and beautiful legs? Recently, i can see some veins and nerves appearing on my leg due to long hours of standing/walking. Its getting obvious and thus spoiling the appearance of my leg..Also, the texture of my skin is getting abit rough. Really need help from you all. Thanks.

P.S. anyone knows any good hair salon? Want to get my hair cut..but im not sure what hairstyle to cut. Hoping to look for a hairstylist that know which hairstyle will suit me and do a great job. :)

Are sure some of those veins aren't varicose vains? Perhaps it would be best to consult your doctor first before spending dollars at some clinic that would be only too content to charge you for useless advice.

Does your job require you to stand long hours? Because if so, no matter what kind of treatments you go for, they'll end up the same. The best is to give your legs a rest.

Rough skin: Use moisturizer!

Hairsalon: any particular budget? Why not go to professional salons who know their stuff?

Sound like vericose veins. If they are, don rub on it.. Apply Leg cooling gel and raise your leg while sitting. This will prevent the conditions from getting worst. Rubbing may cause the blood capillaries to burst thus ples DONT..

Well if you are looking for haircut with coloring work as well, I recommend Ivan from Chapter 2 in Bugis Village. S$138 for cut + color + treatment.. you can discuss the style n color w him.. very friendly, I let him do my hair twice and will go back to him.

My two cents worth to improve blood ciculations for legs - hang your leg at at least 45 - 90 degree against the wall before you go to bed. It helps the blood flow for tired feet

:P

Avoid lifting or carrying heavy objects. Standing on your feet extensively also contributes to it.

My mom is the queen of Vericose Vains from overwork when she is young. She had to do a lot of heavy lifting as she helped ran a provisional shop. She wears pants to hide them.

Varicose veins, and how doctors can deal with them

Post by Editor_CS&B » Wed, 24 May 2006 12:33 pm

Hi yadayadaa. My name is Dan, and I'm editor of a cosmetic surgery magazine (Cosmetic Surgery & Beauty) that is distributed in Malaysia and Singapore. We just happened to do an article on varicose veins a while back which included many of the causes of (and treatments for) varicose veins.

In answer to your questions, there are a number of medical solutions for these veins, ranging from endovenous lasers (in which a tiny laser mounted on a flexible tube is passed through the vein to seal it off) to sclerotherapy (in which a chemical is used to do more or less the same thing) to vein removal surgery. The best thing to do to find out more about these options is to consult a surgeon who offers them.

Meanwhile, docs say there are also lifestyle changes you can make to discourage the formation of varicose veins. Limiting the time you stand around may help, as well as elevating your legs on a regular basis. Losing any additional pounds also puts less strain on the veins in your legs, which in turn discourages the formation of varicose veins.

Hope this helps at least a little!

Hi yadayadaa,

I usually hang my legs againt the wall like couple of times a week, between 10 - 20min. Not sure if it helps the veins, but it is a good way to relieve the stress from your feet and help blood flow coz we are either standing or walking most of the time.

Dan's advise sound good too
