Marketing and Business Development position

Post by 45dj » Sun, 14 May 2006 7:36 pm

Hi all,

I've been offered a Marketing and Business Development position with a large company and currently negotiating salary. Can anyone advise what is the pay range I should negotiate for? What is the pay range difference for a small company? I have a few years of experience in Customer relations. Appreciate any info, thanks!

Hi 45dj, you have to be more specific in your description if you want a more accurate response to your question.

1) How large is this "large company"?
2) Is it a Manager position or Director, or Senior Manager?
3) How many years of experience do you have? (cust rlns doesn't strike me as relevant exp. for a Mkt & Biz Dev. position...)
4) Is this a really a Mktg & Biz Dev. position or a sales job? (sorry I have to ask this because I've come across too many grand-sounding positions which are disappointingly cold-calling sales jobs in nature)

If you can furnish us with these details, we can answer your question better.

Cheers! :D

there are 30 members in the staff. one of the small companies with 5 staff also made an offer today. It's for an executive position. part marketing, part sales and business development.

1) what range should i expect from the two companies? (job scope is similar)
2) i'm a degree holder, with a few yrs of working experience.

appreciate any useful input and salary range info, thanks

Hmm ok...few years working exp...executive position...
Just a very very general gauge, for a large company, I guess $4000 would seem feasible.
For a small one, you can start from 3-4K?

Does this sound reasonable to you, or were you expecting more? ;)

Hi 45dj,

Congrats on getting the job!!!! (dont mind me being late on this)

I am too looking for a suitable position in Marketing & business development. I have done BE,MBA & have 4 years of work exp in IT solution sales.

Have contacted job consultants but is not of much use.

Seek your advice on what would be a better approach in getting Marketing/ BD job at singapore.

Await your reply.
