So... I've been considering picking up a select few Malaysian stocks. Is there any way to do this easily (or at all?) from Singapore and/or as a non-resident of Malaysia? Some type of E*Trade-like online stockbroking service would be optimal, although these will be long-term investments and I have no need to micromanage.
And yes, I'm roughly familiar with the whole CLOB debacle, which is part of the reason I'm asking; has the CLOB arrangement been reactivated yet, and is there any way to base the investments in Malaysia so they don't get trapped in the unlikely event of a run on the ringgit and another currency clampdown?
