rep office, EASY ???

Post by fx8fx » Wed, 10 May 2006 2:18 am

rep office, that's how I did it once as well. easy - letter from your employer, 3k bank guarantee
Hi all veterans,

Any tips about Rep office ?
IE Singapore just approve 1 year for my Rep office , is it hard to extend at the next year ?
And MOM would grant 1 or 2 years EP for the Chief of such Rep office ?
Is there any sample of the letter from parent company .

Last one, whether I have to rent office / phone & fax line before submitting the application for the 1st staff ( Chief Rep )

Tks

Go and talk to the MoM, they will tell you all that you need as my information is a few years old ans may not be valid to the same degree anymore.

Business Plan
Company History
Marketing Plan
Description of your duties
Your designation
Your income
Include company's brochures, website, letters from company, boss etc . . .

You can list your residential address, if you are in certain sectors, for your office.
Usually you should get 1 year first.

DON'T try to bullshit the MoM.

I did it 2 years ago. You dont need the business plan and marketing plan. Company financial history is enough.

Not hard to extend, they will send you a letter when it's time to extend. They will encourage you to go to Pte Ltd but I know womeone who has been working for the last 15 years for a Rep Office.

And MOM would grant 1 or 2 years EP for the Chief of such Rep office ?

EP will be one year only and you have to renew every year (again you will get a letter).

Is there any sample of the letter from parent company .
Yes. But i don't see why you need it since it's approved already.

You can work from home. They just want an address to contact you.

Better ask all this to IE Singapore than MOM.

Hi CD, thanks so much for your reply.

Refer "sample of the letter from parent company ", I mean following letter required by MOM .
I asked MOM 's hotline, the staff does not understand what's the meaning of this letter :(
If the applicant is a regional representative, please submit:

A copy of letter from the International Enterprise Singapore giving approval for the setting up of the Representative Office; and

A letter from the Representative's Office Headquarters stating the purpose of the application, the duration of the applicant's assignment and an undertaking for the maintenance and repatriation of the applicant.

our rep office had been approved by IE for 1 year and my EP is also approved by mom within 1 weeks of my submission of all of required documents.
but it's a Q1 not P2 , though my salary / degree is higher than P2's bottom line . very strange

any comments ? thanks
