Air conditioner remote control

Post by serendipity » Tue, 09 May 2006 11:34 pm

Ok, am not an engineer but this is just ridiculous...
My air-conditioner's remote control is not working and most likely cause I need to change the batteries.
But I have turned it upside down and searched every inch of the bloody thing and there is nothing indicating the remote control can be opened so that I can change the batteries and get a good night sleep!
Am rather hot-blooded and at the moment literally!
So do appreciate any tips, cheers!

Any chance you can take pics all-around of the remote and post them here?

I don't have a digital camera at the moment :(
Will try tomorrow.
How to post the photos though?
*sigh* another sleepless night tonight then.

Or if you go to WNDC tomorrow, I can bring the thing and you can try engineering how to open the thing even ;) No, seriously.
The yummy French-style pizza there is the prize!

It's a Toshiba remote control if it can be of help and the only hole on the surface of the control is of size of the tip of a pen...

Hahahaha, Serendipity you are so cute!

There must be an opening for batteries. :)
One in the hand is worth two of something

Chances are, it uses a button-style battery and we'll be able to snap the thing open.

Or Toshiba designed them to be disposable and wants you to buy a new one. ;)

I am sure between us we can get to the bottom of this :)

Is it one of these?

Almost like RBC-SR2-PE but not exactly the same.
Really cheers Baron, a Japanese colleague eventually figured it out as she used one of these before.
Apparently we are supposed to open the sliding part that covers the buttons as the batteries are under the buttons *blush*
Finally a good night sleep tonight, yay!
Butttt... there is no reason for Bremen nor the Baron for that matter to delight us with your appearances in WNDC tonight ay? :(
