Buying phones thru classifieds.. Can they be trusted??

Post by MrsChevre » Tue, 09 May 2006 11:36 am

helo..
i am interested in buying a new mobile phone but without a line & 2 yrs contract.
So i came across the classifieds in this website (SingaporeExpats) & there are a few overseas company that are selling mobile phones at quite a reasonable price.
But i am wondering if they can be trusted.
What if i hv already wire transferred the money & i dun get what i ordered?
Hv anyone here bought from one of those suppliers? What was the outcome?
I hope i can get some help here..
Thanks

Most of those suppliers are nigerian scammers (especially the ones selling a huge list of phones at ridiculous prices). Be especially wary of phone numbers starting with +234, as that is the Nigerian code.

You will never get a phone, you will never see your money again.

You should have bought from a reputable local company.

Once again I have to agree with Bremen, the Nigerian scams are well known.

If you are after a cheap phone have a look on ebay at least then you have some way of getting in touch with the vendor
