Ewwww manager at a TGI Fridays cut a bit of his finger off by accident & it ends up in a customer's burger

what makes me wonder is the last statement:

"The diner called police, but an officer told him that it was not a criminal matter"

I guess the customer wants to sue them & get some cash, as it is not a criminal matter the police are not implying that it is not a civil matter. Donoghue v. Stevenson springs to mind http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donoghue_v._Stevenson
