How would you handle these in precedence with your life!?

Post by Scorpion » Mon, 24 Apr 2006 6:17 pm

There are 5 Things going on simultaneously which need to be taken care of

The telephone is ringing.

The baby is crying.

A visitor knocks at the front door or doorbell rings.

There is laundry hanging on the line and it begins to rain.

The water tap in the kitchen is running.

In what order would you take care of the problems? Just list down the order in which YOU would handle things, where each decision will represent how you look at your life. :)

I'd go back to sleep :P because....

1. If it's urgent they know my cellphone number

2. Not my baby

3. Security never lets in strangers so if it's urgent see cellphone.

4. Laundry days are usually Sundays and Thursdays or sunny days.

5. Have never left tap running ( not mine anyway ).

yell at the baby to shut it ( so long as it's crying it can't be too serious)
Yell to the person at the door to meet me round the back and help me take the washing in. Manage to turn the tap off on the way to the line- let the answer machine get the phone.

Open a beer first and think about it.
Then turn off the tap.
The washing will redry when the sun comes back out.
The door knocker will continue to knock if it's important
or bust down the door if it's a raid or come back later.
Ditto the Telephone, if it's important they will call back - it will only ring 10 times anyway before telecoms turns it off.
The baby needs to cry some to exercise it's lungs and as long as it's crying is still okay.

Why the tap first you might ask? Because that one definately costs me money when it's running. The rest who knows.

mine would totally depend on circumstances.

I would...

Attend to the kid first (if he\she's been sick)
Attend the door first if I have expecting someone speacial
Rush to the phone if again I am expecting something
Clear the cloth line if I am waiting for my clothes to dry for the evening
Well, yes close the tap if I am in Africa or India where water is so precious

IF none apply...

It would be
- Door
- Phone
- Kid (Yea not a huge fan)
- Water
- Clothline

Guess I am not as environmental friendly as social I am. I probablly place others/friends' before kids (Trust me, I wouldnt want to have kids at all so...). I let phone rule my life? and since I have palced the clothline in the end...I am ill-organised and dont fret over things?

Ok Scorpion to be more 'paticipative' and if these things were happening at the SAME time:

1. Turn off the tap ( cos it's immediate result )

2. Bring in the laundry ( see above )

3. Answer the phone ( perhaps the baby will stop crying and the person at the door is already there )

4. Answer the door ( see above )

5. Pacify the baby.

1. Turn off the water tap in the kitchen.

2. Bring in the laundry.

3. Check out the crying baby.

4. Answer the door. (can always carry and pacify the baby while answering the door)

5. Answer the phone. (if its still ringing! otherwise, if its important, they will ring again)
