OK, el greco et al, I take it all back. I reloaded my computer all day yesterday: mail, iTunes, internet options, etc... and when I restarted it after downloading a new version of iTunes -- everything was gone (including the iTunes librabry I had just imported from my iPod).

More problems....

I hate the Apple Store/Service Center here. My iTunes store is not working since they replaced my hard drive, they said it's because you can't use the store in Singapore. Not true, have used it for years, you just need a US credit card. Losers.

Senuti appartently converted all my video files to music -- now there is no video -- just audio. Even on my iPod (even though I never clicked that box that says: do you want to update this iPod with this Library) there are no more videos. Apple service wants $50 for the call even though it all started with the new hard drive which is under warranty. Did I mention they are Losers?

I'm still an Apple fan, just can't figure out why they can't fix the service problem here. A real Apple store is coming, hope the run those Wheelock place wannabes out on a rail!

ok I solved my problem. :D
not optimally but better than losing everything…

Here is how you can get data out of the ipod (not sure if this applies to Mac):

In control Panel, folder Options, View, click “Show hidden files and options”
