Has anyone seen the current production in Singapore? What did you think?

Haven't been yet. We all go on the 30th. My fiends at SISTIC say it's a fairly well executed production. How can you screw up that score?? It's among the best I think. I can't wait.

I watched it last week.

It was the first time I saw West Side Story on stage so I can't really compare it to other productions. I thought it was decent overall. The singers are really great and choreography was also very good, but one of most annoying thing was that I couldn't make out what the hell those Puerto Rican girls were singing about. "America" was supposed to be very humorous and witty song but because of their pronunciation, the whole song was just.... mumbled. Plus, the ending scene wasn't as emotional as it should have been.

There was no standing ovation.

It was a fairly good performance - couple of the singers were having bad nights though, voice of the Jets gang leader was terrible. Shan't give too much else away, the girls sing 'America' were awesome, pretty clear to understand, most of it anyway. Beware, the theatre was freezing! We sat front row circle - must be under the aircon.... take a sweater/pash/wrap. On the whole all 6 of us enjoyed it - worth seeing.
