russian language lessons/ russian restaurant?

Post by Europe74 » Mon, 02 Aug 2004 10:55 am

Hi there,

I used to learn russian for 4 years when I was in High School (more than 10 years ago..) and, as I hardly practise, I am forgetting everything...

I called many language schools but even if they advertise saying they have russian lessons, they never open any course because they don't have enough student. OK, I know you don't really need it in the everyday life in Singapore but it is a beautiful language!

If anybody around here could give me lessons, it would be great.

Or if anyone else want to learn the language, we could try to open a class in any language school (some are having budget fees, quite interesting).

And last question but not least: does anyone know a russian restaurant in Singapore?

Thanks

I

There is no russian restaurant here.. well, at least any I'm aware of. :) Russian cuisine is not so great for local climate.

I'm Russian, so if you so interested in practice then we may chat sometime over a cup of cofee for example. Not sure about lessons though.

Thanks for answering,
OK for a coffee, but even if I am trying hard to study it, I forgot almost all my russian so I guess the chat will be mostly in english... Or you talking russian and me trying to get the meaning! I am far from being fluent
If you are OK with that, you can contact at [email protected].

I'm Russian and I've just called this restaurant.
Yes, they have Russian cuisine but there are no Russians in the kitchen.

I've been there a couple of times, the chefs are experienced and Hakka (a dialect of chinese who're famous for their cooking skills). Try their Frozen Alaska - $16... excellent!

"get together" is every friday and sunday at russian embassy. They have a bar, pool, and russian TV :) But it's only for russian citizens and you have to be registered first. Contact me in msn: [email protected] or icq:38886645.
Good luck.
