Hello everyone. The pay for a budget FA is as follow....

1st 100hrs, SGD800.
from 101th hour and above, SGD25/hr

So basically if you work like 110hr (which is very very exhausting, considering that 1hr energy in the skies = 4hrs energy on ground)you will get ard SGD1250. After CPF deduction, take home is about SGD900+.

Also, they only fly to nearby destinations, like 1 or 2 hrs away, so you do the maths on the maximum number of hours you can hit. The furthest is only 5hrs away, cos their planes are small and can only carry enough fuel to go 5hrs' destinations. Again, you can calculate how little you can possibly earn. Also, please bear in mind that all the number of hours you work are bounded by the CAAS laws of cabin crews' minimum rest period, so again, do your maths.

They only take in Singaporeans and Permanent Residents, so if you do not belong to either one, forget it. Dun waste your time to send your resume to them.

No layovers or nightstops in any other countries, so you can forget about "seeing the world" or putting down "I want to see the world" as part of the reasons to join them in your resume.

They dont have demo videos on plane, so be prepared to do life safety demo in front of possibly 180 passengers.

Think again, having to sacrifice all the public holidays with your loved ones and friends, (ie, when they free, you are not free. When you are free, they are not free, very soon, they will just exclude u in all their gatherings/activities, and you will be damn lonely. and I mean seriously DAMN lonely), together with all the health hazards of flying, such as severe varicose veins, trombola, susceptibility to common infectious diseases, etc etc just for a pathetic take home pay of SGD900+ a month.... Not a very good idea indeed...

You all will be going to the airport almost everyday and with such a low pay, you can only take a public bus or MRT to work, it will take a long time. The taxi fare from airport is very expensive.

Remember.. Monthly SGD1250. After CPF deduction, take home is about SGD900 plus. Will that be enough?

I hope those people who would like to consider working for a budget airline, please think properly.

Goodbye! :D

It's true..

If you want to work for a budget airline you have to make a lot of sacrifices...Like what Matt said..

Unless you are working for a Big Airlines like Cathay Pacific,Emirates,Singapore Airlines,MAS...You can take a CAb TO Changi Airport..But if youre working as a FA for a budget airline like TGER AIRWAYS,you need to take MRT and BUS which will be of course cheap but it will waste a lot of time...MRT is 1 hour...but if your home is not near the MRT you have to suffer a lot...Remember you need to be at least 2 hours earlier before the flight approx time as you need to prepae the plane for boarding...

So yeah...Think properly before rushing into things..FA is not an easy job.

Hey Paris,
From wat i know, the interviews will stretch till next week. Had mine ystr. Very easy interview. But they said they will call me by the end of next week. So , see how la.......
Thanks for your input and concerns guys, nevertheless, big airlines are not for me as there gonna be layovers. I would prefer the turn arounds. I'm putting up at Pasir Ris anyway.........No worries abt the salary.
Basic is $800. You will be paid only sector allowances and commission.

where did u get the info about 1st 100 hrs? NO such thing. as 100hrs then 101th hour and above. it's as follow basic+commission+sector allowances.
It's an easy job so, don't have to compare budget to international airlines.

so.. what?? what about TIGER AIRWAYS? the only important thing is we get PAID. not we PAY the company.
and fyi, not 2 hours [we are not international airline] it's 1 hour reporting time before departure.

QM,I'm not saying that TIGER AIRWAYS is lousy...
I'm just stating one of the budget airlines that's all..
Please don't get mad too easily ok? :) :)

If you want to carry on in life take things the hard way ok...
We all learn from our own mistakes...
I don't look down on budget carriers FYI.

I have flewn to PARIS,VENICE,MONTREAL,ADELAIDE,HEATHROW,TOULOUSE,MOSCOW.
1st Class Int.

I don't see any difference in the difficulty level of the job..
You do the SAME THING!!!
No offence yeah QM.. :)

Good luck Flying...

My god, you're such a terribly informer.
most of your information are wrong. and you're not even a cabin crew. [don't get me wrong Matt10, i'm just correcting you from some of your information]

they never exclude me in any of their activities or gathering.
we have gatherings here and there. and they never exclude me or any of my batch girls. and monthly SGD1250 are only for lazy people who doesn't like working and only go to work for the sake of going. in fact, you can get more then that without over working but you work hard. and remember, this is just a stepping stone.

FYI, those who are going for their interview. Tiger Airways are growing. And their competitor are losing and will be closing down soon. Soon, tiger will be taking over their business. which means, possible pay rise and many many more advantages.

With a newly set up airline which was set up not more than 5 years ago, we will have to accept the fact that they are relatively new and is still growing.
Just like SIA 15 years ago, they have low pay too. But as SIA grow, SIA rise their pay [I'm talking about the Cabin Crew].
Just think about it, no matter what you think about budget or international, everything is just a stepping stone.

If you really want to find out how does it feels to be a cabin crew, I would suggest you to join smaller airline. Cause sometimes, you might not like it and feel like quitting half-way. Even for a budget airline, there's alot of crew who wants to quit half-way due to the environment.
Like matt10 say: being FA is not an easy job.

Indeed it's not!

haha.. yeah yeah.. alright. yeah all the same thing. we do same thing and we might get low pay. but patience is the key for everything. i don't want to hurry myself to international or bigger planes, when for just a small plane i couldn't handle yet. so, i just i need to get used to the smaller aircraft before moving to a BIG one.
