Yes.

Now, CX is celebrating its 60th birthday and their cabin crew are allowed to choose whatever uniform they want which means they are can wear CX's uniform in the 1980s(the one with the hat and gloves), 1960s etc. It is very interesting to see the cabin crew to wear different uniforms. :D

If SIA celebrates will SQ males get to wear the beige uniform that they used to wear?

Right of Abode in Hong Kong

Post by rainy » Wed, 21 Jun 2006 8:36 pm

I meant Right of Abode in Hong Kong. How do Singaporeans apply for Right of Abode in Hong Kong?

Anything wrong with the construct of sentences?

I would like to enquire from experienced foreigners working in Hong Kong.

Rainy,
First of all Adobe is a software company so you could have meant two different things - just my teasing. :P

You cannot apply for right of abode in Hong Kong, it means you must have a legitimate right to live there, in other words only native residents of the country. However, Cathay Pacific do sometime recruit in other countries and you had best wait until they advertise. That may be some time so best use it to think what the job entails and plan your course of action.

u get the right to abode in HK if u've stayed there for more than 7 years (correct me if i'm wrong).
it's printed on the back of my HK identity card "The holder of this card has the right of abode in Hong Kong"

Don't know about that, point is you cannot apply for right of abode you either need to be a native or have the right of abode (.e.g. possibly when you marry a citizen)

I assume you are a Hong Kong national?

haha yah i was born in hk.

i guess this right of abode issue can be dropped from this topic oredi.. cuz for most ppl will fall under this group:
(iv) Non-Chinese citizens resident in Hong Kong for not less than 7 years

and u need:
1. proof of 7-year continuous ordinary residence in Hong Kong immediately before the date of the application for permanent resident status e.g. school documents, employment proof, official receipts, bank statements, income tax receipt, etc.

2. travel document showing entry to Hong Kong and current condition of stay in the HKSAR

furthermore,
Non-Chinese citizens resident in Hong Kong for not less than 7 years applying for the status of permanent resident in the HKSAR are required to provide information and make a declaration that he/she has taken Hong Kong as his/her place of permanent residence before or after the establishment of the HKSAR. Declaration should be made on Form ROP 146 to be submitted with the application

so, forget it if they require hk ROA. i guess u wont waste 7 yrs juz to be a cathay FA.
