With my pending arrival to Singapore rapidly approaching, I'd like to know if access to Newsgroups are available and unrestricted in Singapore. Thanks in advance for any info. :D

Yes, via groups.google.com and the usual suspects. Internet censorship in Singapore is surprisingly mild, there's a token list of about 10 banned sites (including playboy.com) but the rest of the net is wide open...

New to me JPatokal....

I never knew one cannot enter playboy here! But indeed, you get the provider's site, warning you it is not available when entering the url of Playboy...:o

Weird, cause the most disgusting porn is ready and available.... :???:

It's 100 sites that were banned originally. That list stayed static for about 5 years. about 3 years ago I think they updated the list (again total is around +/- 100 sites). It's just a token thing as it's too easy to change your url. No worries, people look for the sites. The url can be www.bob's your uncle for that matter. If someone wants to find it they will.
