Laundromats are uncommon in Singapore because it's easier to just pay somebody (either a maid or a cleaning shop) to do the whole job for you. I've only seen laundromats at hostel-type operations like Hangout @ Mt. Emily, but they're guests only...

Grand roxy Hotel on the East Coast does. I made the mistake of sending my clothes to be cleaned there and got stung $100 for a bag. $3 a sock! You can wash your stuff there for $5 a load though I found out after...doh!

However this may be no where near bras basah area! :?

Madras Hotel in Little India allows non guests to use the machine at S$3.00 per wash and S$1.00/10 mins for the dryer after 10.30 am.

Seem to be a shortage of laundromats here, prehaps I should open one !
