Hi singaporegrrl, can you give us some tips on the interview process for EK and what they might be looking for? since you are still in training now. How is everything with your new colleagues?

Seriously, I don't see anything new with airline interviews. They are all looking for potential candidates. I don't think any company wants a stuck-up candidate who does not watch his/her posture and what he/she talks. You just need to be yourself and display a positive outlook. I didn't even think of what they want from me. I just went and tried my luck with me being myself and that's it. I got through all rounds with ease.

My class is superb. Training with people from different parts of the world is a feeling so surreal. I'm sad it's gonna be over soon.

1120? Haha you're gonna be surprised. 1170 just started this week I heard. I was surprised myself coz I'm in 1146 and I only started 6 weeks ago. More than 20 abs in just 6 weeks. Incredible!

By the way, where are you living? I'm in the White Building on Sheik Zayed Road.

Yup i agree that Dubai Dirhams ( AED) is pegged to USD$ therefore the salary we getting in Dubai is getting lesser. Although there is a Currency Protection Rate in my salary - it doesnt really help much :) Hope they will review our salary in coming May ( Financial Yr).

However if you stay in DUbai - it wont affect u much :)

They always have 2 days for the interview lor.

If you are not free on the 25th - you can go for the 26th interview:)

I remembered last time one gal went for the 1st day interview - cant get it - then she went for the 2nd day interview and got in to the 2nd round leh..

Hi Jacqaw,

I've some burning qns here and im sure many here wld oso wana noe.
You're the ONLY person who can answer our queries now...not many flying EK crew are here and singaporegrrl is still in training.

1) What's the basic and total average take home pay u can earn in a mth?
website says a basic of US$1000 plus US$600 in flying allowance. I dont think the allowance is so little right? is it US600 PER flight? I heard the take home pay is higher den SQ. Av 4k-5k per mth? hmmm.

2) How often do u get to do a flight to SG? every mth or every 2 mths?

3) How Long is the training? R we paid?

4) Do we get to choose our house mates or they will allocate singaporeans to stay toge?

thanks Jac! Hope to see ur reply...... :D
