great! i welcome you into the red hat clan...
:D

regarding ur question,i tink it should be possible...after that 5wks training u will receive your first roster on your graduation day itself. you will be assigned 2 supy flights. 1 flight for boeing and the other on an Airbus...it will be scheduled a few days after your graduation. during supy flights, it's emirates tradition for that new crew to be seated in the flight deck behind during takeoff and landing.it's really beautiful especially at night while landing into DXB.and the pilots are nice, they'll allow you to have your own headset while in the cockpit so you'll be able to listen to them communicating with the traffic contoller.

hi xinni,
yes, surprisingly there are quite a number of singaporeans. i even had 4 fellow singaporean friends in the same abinitio. and 2 others in another class...we came at the exact same date and get to know each other in the airport. upon arrival in DXB, u will be allocated an apartment. it's really nice, very clean and huge. about staying together, that depends on availability. if you are unhappy with the arrangements, u can request to move to another accomodation. layovers in SIN are usually 2 or 3 days depending on the sector routes.there are flights to SIN everyday and people who give away their rostered flights...so chances of having a SIN flight are quite good if you know how to play around with the bidding system.

sometimes you'll get up to 5 days off before your next flight.during that time, you can just call up your frens who are free as well and just chillout at each other's apartment. cook together, watch dvds, go out to the malls, to the beach,pool..or enjoy the nightlife.basically whatever you feel like doing. there's no limits, no curfews...80% of the people there are expats.and once you're there, you are one of them too...oh before i forget, upon graduation, u'll be issued with a card and this entitles you to get discounts on shopping, majority of the restaurants, all nightclubs, gyms, sports and the list goes on.
