Went for the briefing today... Wow... after the briefing, i feel so stressed :( their expectations are relatively high and strict. They have both "practical and theory" assessments to see if your personality fits their criteria. And also english tests for fluency, pronounciation, understanding and expressive skills. It's still best that one be herself cos even if you manage to "smoke thru" or try to be what they want when you are not that category. You will still get eliminated during the personality test if they find out the results dun tally with what you show. Scary....

hmmm... anyway, the interview yesterday wasn't considered as the first interview i think, cos it's a pre-screening round. On the 22nd and 23rd (two batch) , it will be screening and assessment done on a day. Which consists of three rounds. After that then will be the final round on another day. Just to share with the poeple here.. :)

hmm,, what if i jus submitted my application via internet?

will they consider that?

previously i'm working with this healthcare company, and those selected Emirates FA goes for their pre-employment checkups. I was told that all expenses they'll have to pay themselves.

From what I know, they pay up to few hundred bucks jus to get the checkup done. And, I ever seen two Malay girls who are obviously physically not proportion for a FA.

hmmm... you missed the recruitment now. You will have to wait for the next round, i've seen on this forum where those who applied on web may take a few months for them to get back to you. So have to wait patiently and at the same time take note of the next walk in lo. Mwaybe another three months time i think, cos the prevous walk in was during feb.

As for the medical check up, i'm not sure. But i think we'll have to pay ourselves. Cos from what i know, they'll email the medical doc to us and we have to go for the check up ourselves. So i assume it's our own expense? But i think it should be worthwhile since it's high chance you'll be employed at that stage unless the medical report fails, then it's not their fault. :)

For the physically not proportion, i think it applies the same every airline. There may be perfect ones or not so attractive ones. But ultimately, it's their good personality that makes them being recruited. It's not easy to have a good personality to be in the family as one have to be diplomatic, detailed, meticulous, friendly, helpful, good teamplayer, abide to rules etc. It's just whether you fit into the category or not. And of course it doesn't mean that one is not good if they dun get selected, it may be due to some areas which dun fit or sometimes a little luck. After being to the emirates pre screening and briefing, i personally feel that it's really diff, they are very professional and strict.

These are my personal tots and views, hope it doesn't offend anyone here. :D

oh well, ya. kinda agree with what u mentioned.

i've chatted with a couple of them when they went over to my clinic for the checkups, well they mention that it's not that difficult to get in as long as u're well prepared. :)

i read the emirates website, there states that the closing application date is 31st may 2006. and the assesment dates are from 21st to 23rd of May 2006?

whatever it is, i'll jus keep a lookout for the adverts on the papers.

thanks !

I applied thru web at end april and din know about the walk in too. Just so happen saw vivi post in this forum and was lucky to get in. Before that, i tot their pre screening was just by the application we sent then comes the invitation to the assessment. :P

you are also right. when we want something, we will rush for it or grab for it. we never think of the consequences. whether will it be good or bad. we just take our own risk. when the times come and belong to us. then we will decide what to do for next.

hmm.... i din go is because of another reason. the other reason is that im just scare that if i go down there again, im not selected for it and will be disappointed. btw, is that your first time attending the Emirates walk in interview? or how many times have you try?

A good observation there are fare too many applying for this job without giving their application any serious thought or planning.

Then you might never go simply because you are scared which you wil never succeed. Think of what you said in your first paragraph, it confirms what I have tried to tell so many here so often. That is plan your application which means doing a lot of research off your own bat. There is a method I could suggest and may later but there are too many who simply don't listen.

This is like a parody of the plastic surgery thread.

Hi.. the first interview was a pre screening interview in a group of ten. I think it lasted for about 15mins? I dunno how long will the subsequent interviews gonna be.. but it will be in groups for the 2nd and third round then followed by individual.

Does it means tt after each person went thru e interview, they can go off after tt? I've actuali miss e int on sat due to some mishaps, so i actuali ask them for another chance and they ask me to turn up on the 17th May.. Now i need to know roughly how long it takes coz i need to apply either half or full day leave..
