I could buy sporean stocks with E-trade? Could I have my dividend deposited on my cash account with the brokerage firm in stead of receiving the dividend in cheque? Thanks.

Ah... Singapore stocks... a different breed of cat. You would need to contact E-trade for that answer.

However, a google search of "international online stock trading" reveals a number of firms offering this service. For example,
