Hi
Can anyone please advice me on the following!! I am a 24 yr old British citizen living in Uk for the past 24 years & I am hoping to apply for the SIA cabin crew position in Singapore, however I have read the SIA air stewardess requirements & I believe it says malaysian or singapore citizen, therefore I would like to know does that mean I have no hope as I am not any of the stated citizens.

You have NO CHANCE - see the above link - where you should have looked in the first place.
However, if you are really keen to work for an Asian airline, I suggest Japan Airlines who who have recruited a number of westerners into their cabin crew but make a point of doing some research first.

I guess if it says Malaysian or Singaporean only, then you are out of luck - by definition alone.
I do remember a while back SIA had Sri Lankans (Hello Vijay, one of the most beautiful and intelligent women I have ever had the priviledge to go out with) and Japanese (Hello Michyio . . . etc . . . )
If I may suggest you learn one Asian language (Malay would be the easiest) and then apply with BA or some other Euro-carrier . . .

I would think simmy would fit right in with the current crop of FA wannabes. S(he) also has problems understanding simple english (and english to boot).
If it says only malaysian or singaporeans then where is the confusion?

Of course I understand simple English, for god sake Im a UK born & bred, its just that I have been recieving different feedback from different ppl, so therefore its peopl like u who cant understand original English & people like u are confusing pps like me!!! By the way I have recently recieved feedback from SIA Human Resources & apparantly they have confirmed if I relocate to Singapore I have 100% chance to become part of the SIA crew!!! so there u go, people like u should not be on this forum cuz ur just arrogant & confusing!!!!

If you already have this information then why ask anybody here? You only had to go to the airline's website in order to acquire this information, talk about lacking in common sense. BTW I think you will find they only employ persons with an Asian complexion in their cabin crew. Confusion? Looks like you are the one who is confused.

You are the one talking out of your ass, not only are you very rude but also unbelievably thick! The information you needed is available on SIA's website where you obviously do not have enough common sense to look and as I pointed out in the beginning. (what I meant was has you looked you would not have needed to ask). Nothing I said confused anybody and I understood perfectly so don't tell me not give out advice now take a good look at yourself in the mirror pitiful moron that you so obviously are!
You a flight attendant with manners and an attitude like yours – no chance fortunately.
BTW Your English is pathetic!

Also thnx 4 ur previous advice, however I dnt think I will need it, so take care & please dont bother 2 write back, it's pathetic playing toddler games on ere!!! *Also talkin about appalling English well.... I am aware of it but does it ever occur to you that persons whose first language is not English would very often have great difficulty in understanding what you say? Not only that your posts are rife with spelling mistakes. I am not trying to be patronizing when I say this but you will need to have to get out of the habit of both if you are in anyway serious in your career pursuit. Two recent posts by Trinkflasche and Singaporegrrl bear this out although I have known for some considerable time that this is one thing SIA look at in particular. No employer likes badly written English and I can assure should they see such an application form will rapidly find its way into the bin. Something else you have not considered and why I said 'you fell for it' you have allowed me to wind you up from the beginning. Think about it Simmy, if you on a plane with an aggressive or awkward passenger how would you deal with them when they are right in front of you? Remember I am in front of my computer, you do not know where but I cannot hurt you, passengers can and some will.

SQ to hire 2000 more cabin crew
I’m taking this as a positive sign that the flight industry is coming back, perhaps now it is finally safe to say that SG is reopened for good.

Sad day for many SIA crew, losing their jobs, hope they can soon get back to their jobs.
