Wi-fi connectivity enhancer

Post by rogerdelta » Mon, 20 Mar 2006 7:21 pm

Hello friends,
Any idea if we get a wireless connectivity booster/antenna ? I can see there are around 6 -7 ISPs with wireless internet access around my appartment(Far east plaza, Scotts road), but the lap top just fails to connect to even a single isp.
Any help or clues on how to enhance the signal so that I get a free internet!!!
Cheers
Roger

Though tapping to ur neighbour's internet connection is considered illegal. Just curious have you ever tried an successful in it??.

What does it means that you can not get connected to them, can you access the intial page!!

How do say the signal strength is low  , may be someother things :-|

I can see around 7 in my HDB Block but while 3 are like mine (unsecured), like mine, all of us are using hardware recognition only (MAC addresses must be registered on the router via the admin page which is probably been sufficiently password protected.

That said, what you are trying to do is illegal and is akin to stealing or wiretapping. It's no different that plugging into your neighbour electrical socket with an extension cord to run your electrical appliances.

Unsecured just means they are not using encryption. They could be using Mac Filtering to stop you from using their network.

You don't need a booster, you need to pay for your own net access.

What you need is a wi-fi gun. People have had success with pringles cans, but this baby can get you connected up to 10 miles away:

That's just because of the way it looks... Early wi-fi guns were actually wi-fi antennas put into a pringles can and pointed at the hotspot. I kid thee not. :P
