More "Art"

Post by Baron Greenback » Mon, 20 Mar 2006 12:53 pm

A performance artist Mark McGowan wants to leave 6 taps running for a year which will waste 100 million litres of water - in protest of water companies making profit while wasting water through under investment.

His performance art also includes rolling a monkey nut across London with his nose in protest of student debts.

Ok so I take the point that what he is doing raises awareness of the causes that he is highlighting. But to waste 100m litres of water when so many people in the world struggle to find fresh water is surely bad.

Is it art? IMHO: no F$%&ing way

In the end ,the bill for that 100litres of water still has to be paid, isn't that contributing to the 'profit'?

..he would have better luck rolling a monkey's 'nuts'.

To a certain extent I might even suggest he lives a 100days on a bucket of water, going about his daily routines.

Then again maybe too 'arty' for him...
