Health insurance for pregnancy

Hello, I'm new to Singapore from NZ and am looking to find some health insurance that will cover pregnancy related issues. Have tried a couple of companies but they don't cover pregnancy - any recommendations......?

Are you pregnant now? If not (and can wait six months) contact BUPA. If you are, start saving.

if you are already pregnant (or not), try contacting the following:
SMILES 1-800-86 76 453. The sell a policy called New Life which will cover you for any EMERGENCIES. It does not cover normal pregnancy related expenses like Drs appts and delivery but will cover MAJOR emergencies related to pregnancy and birth. Be warned, the deductible is high but considering the costs you might otherwise incur, it might be worth it.
BTW- the policy is underwritten by Aviva and you should also be able to get more info from Convergys if this is the HR company that is used by your employer.

I'm a financial adviser and the company I recommend for ex-pat medical insurance is Aviva. They won't help you if you're already pregnant since they have a 10 month waiting period for maternity issues. If you're just planning a child though they are ideal.
