How long stay as tourist?

Hey Guys,

I would like to know how it is in SG with staying there as a tourist. Will this be possible:

01.Sept 2006 - 30. Nov 2006 stay as tourist

01. Dec 2006 - 31. Dec 2006 work as a trainee with a training pass

01. Jan 2007 - 28. Febr 2007 stay as a tourist

Will this be possible? Or do I have to leave SG between the changes?

Normally you get a 1 month visa when you enter by Changi Airport (15 days coming by land transportation). There might be limitations due to your nationality. You can extend your visa but need a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident (PR) to sponsor you.

The process is very fast as long as you have a sponsor. The idea is if you do anything wrong or have no money to leave the sponsor is responsible.

Most 'western' country's nationals will get between 1 and 3 months, depending on where you are from if you arrive by plane, as CD said.

And how can I found out if I get 1 months or 3 months?

I asking, because I will have a training pass for full six months. Bt my girlfriend will only have a trainingpass for 6weeks. And the rest of time she will be there with me and make holidays...

And how is it when she leave SG and go to Malaysia and turn back 15minutes later,will she get a new visa for the next x days?

Why don't you check with the Singapore embassy in your country?

As for going to Malaysia, yes it works once, may be twice.

Yey, I will call them, but they are closed over weekend...

And how is it with find this singaporean sponsor - this have to be a Singapore recident?

And how much he have to pay for this sponsoring? Or how much do we have to pay for it?
Is it easy to found one or is nobody willing to do this???

As mentioned above the sponsor must be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident.

You don't have to pay anything, just ask that person to sign the document (it can be a Company too).

Since the sponsor agrees to take care of you in case you for instance break the law, or pay your air ticket to leave Singapore if you don't have any money, I would say someone who can trust you will accept to do it.

By the way, you should solve all these questions with the company where you go for training. They must know how to handle this.

thanks for this information. I have already a trainingpass for a half year, but my girlfriend have only one for 6 weeks...

and how long is the visa by a sponsor valid?

I think you would get a Social Visit Pass which is up to 3 months.
