Of course we don't do the japanese announcements! We don't even get to do the English ones. The japanese crew do those.

Sharkie...would u mind to tell us how do they select a candidate among all of the applicants? I mean what criteria are they looking for?
Confident? Fair? Look like a Japanese....???

I can't tell you what exactly they are looking for, but it helps if you are fair, punctual (and by that, I mean EARLY), humble, friendly, cheerful, polite. Better if you know some japanese. I think it increases your chances. There are no flights only to Narita. We always go to NRT first then to the states then back to NRT. Always at least one night stay at narita.

Probably MANY MANY girls... the last time I think they shortlisted about 700 for the first round

The figures above are no doubt accurate SIA on one occasion that I read about received 479 applicants at a walk-in interview of which only 82 were chosen.

This is why it is vital to research and plan your application in advance as interviewers will simply view you as 'not really interested' if you are amongst the many who simply apply the moment vacancies are advertised.
