All of you seriously worry too much. I dun remember thinking So much when I was applying..haha. I just know Emirates and Qatar, it HAS to be plain background. Probably colour doesnt really matter. If its not plain, they will make u take one on the spot for about $15, if I remember correctly. JAL will not do that. As for the shoes question, what are you asking? If u wear biz attire, u wun be wearing slippers with it, right? Full biz attire including shoes. Covered shoes. Hairwise, best to tie or bun, even for interview. But I dun think it matters so much for the photos.
Pls dun worry so much. If you have what it takes, it doesnt really matter what shoes u are wearing in the photo, or whether your hair is tied up or not. I'm sure 95% of applicants will be invited for 1st round. Make sure u impress them then.

How thin do we nid to be ? wats the average weight ?
Doesnt have to be a professionally taken photo. Of course it will look better, but doesnt Have to be from a studio. I wasnt the one who suggested Hollywood secrets =) Just wear biz attire and take it against any plain background. Should be fine. I dun think they mind even if its not a plain background unlike Emirates/Qatar etc.
As for weight, I don't think it matters as long as you are healthy and look proportionate. Some girls are above 55kg, and still ok, as long as you still look pleasant. Most impt is your attitude.
HTHs
So Emirates and Qatar definitely have to be white background for both full length and pp size photo and JAL ok to have any plain backgrd? What about like light greyish or off white? Still ok for all 3 airlines?
The biz attire, wat abt shoes? And pp size photo, hair tied or hair down? Both full length n pp size does not have to be taken at the same timings rite?
yes, I know they're weird qns but jus wanted to be sure..

Yeah I agree. My friend took half body picture and still got in (in Japan recruitment) What they want to see is whether you are confident and able to carry yourself well.
If you do not have the height, you still can try. It is up to them whether they like or face or not. If they like you, they would definitely pass you. Even if you are tall and pretty, it doesn't mean they want you.
And please, do not try to be someone you are not. I know the "smiling" to interviewers is important, but i think its too fake if anyone smiles too much.
Just be yourself and do your best. Imagine you are talking to your friends. Be natural, REMEMBER!!
p.s: do not roll your eyes to anyone in the interview room. once you roll, you are OUT.
even if you got the job, do not roll your eyes to anyone. you'll get punishment by your seniors. It happened to my friend. haha
Flying with Japan Airlines, you have to learn all the Japanese Etiquettes.
If you don't know, can ask me. I'm Japaneseeeee living in Singapore:P

You must learn how to say sorry even though it is not your fault. And even if you did not do something wrong, just accept it and apologise. Do not question your Japanese Senior like why is it my fault?!, i did not do anything wrong!, and most importantly, do not push the blame to anyone.
JUST APOLOGISE!
Do not give a bow like a nod, but a 90degree bow. That is the most important etiquette.
Other than that, i think all is common sense
Do not be late for any interviews or else, BYE!
Be there at least 15 minutes earlier be it interview or etc/ JUST ANYTHING!
And lastly, if you are not Japanese, do not speak like you know it fluently. Many foreigners do not know it, but many Japanese do not like it
(sorry to say that! hehe) JUST BE HUMBLE!
hope it helps.

wow! how did you know my name is emiko? hehe.
oh, it is so obvious!
yes, that is what i want to say; focus your eyes on the interviewer. but don't focus too much the interviewer feel uneasy or like you want to fight
if you have dyed hair, i don't think it is good if you dye it black now. because, you might not know if you would pass. it would be wasteful if you dye black and realise you are not going to the next round. this is what i think only. of course, you may want to think differently.
other few tips is
1. do not ever cross your legs. in Singapore, people do it. but in japan, no woman would cross their legs especially in interviews
2. sit with your back straight. do not slouch. to japanese, it is very sloppy
3. if you are wearing skirt, please wear stockings (japanese manners)
4. i think it is normal to be nervous. all of us feel nervous. but be confident
in answering the questions
5. japanese REALLY care about complexion. so, from now till you receive your interview letter, drink LOTS of water. maybe about 3L-4L a day. if you can conceal, good. if you can't conceal, i don't know
but for sure they are not looking for tofu (is that what is called in Singapore? wow, tofu is delicious) complexion. you know, nobody is borned perfect unless it is in your genes
ps: i am not related to jal nor am i working in jal. i have friends working in jal only. i am just giving tips of what a interview is like in japan. although this is Singapore, you are going to work for a japanese company. it is good if you have japanese manners
like i said, the above tips is what i see as a japanese. you may not want to follow what i said, but... i think its still better if you follow closely to the tips given

oh! its me again
some have PM me asking me about scars, blemishes, acne on face and legs etc
best is put some leg spray if it is on your legs. what i have heard is they look closely thoroughly. japan sells these type of leg spray but i don't know about Singapore. may look uneven, but it is better if you conceal than leave it alone.
jal do wear stockings. so i don't know why they are so concern about body scars. maybe sharkie would like to answer this query.
don't worry about these actually. the more you worry, the more stress you are. then the more pimples will grow!!!

Hello!
skin color is brown you talking about?
office ladies would wear brown or black. some japanese women in japan wears stocking with holes. do you know? hole stocking? i think those are just asking for trouble because japanese men are very... hehe
do not wear those type of hole stocking unless you want to ask for trouble.
but since jal is wearing black stockings, i would recommend you to wear black
