Only if you have a TV with a slingbox *in the U.S.* that you could then access from Singapore.

Find a friend in the U.S. with cable, purchase a Slingbox and ship to your friend, ask them to connect to their cable box with internet connection. Install the client and you can now watch U.S. programming from the comforts of your office or home PC. Just make sure you have good connection, ADSL is best.

I am planning to catch baseball in the mornings...at work....until I figure out how to save to my HD for later viewing.

I just got an email from SlingMedia, they are discontinuing support for all Slingboxes and once they shut down their servers, your slingbox will no longer work. The FAQ section says that if you have an existing one setup, it may be usable for another 24 months at most, but make sure you keep the Sling app on your existing phone as the app won’t be downloadable anymore!

Not sure how many people are using these here. I’m on my second one, now going on 10 years - I just checked and it’s still working. I have to say, it has been kind of nice to be able to watch/record TV back in my home country from time to time.

I'm using USTVNow for live American channels and recording, plus Netflix for on-demand stuff.

Has anyone with a cable subscription in the US tried accessing it from Singapore? This would be something like Xfinity On Demand for example. I would guess it should work, but probably only with VPN.

I have not been able to access Xfinity on demand in SG despite having a subscription back in Miami. It’s rather inconvenient to cancel and renew our subscription every time we leave and return so we choose to keep it year long.
