ok cheekybeek, seeing as you already have I will jump in & ask you a question about a piece of trivia I heard the other day.

Apparently (grey?) parrots can live for 80 years, is this true? Do other parrots live quite so long?

That's true, yup. Most large parrots can live for 50-90 years. Many large raptors (such as the Philippine Monkey-Eating Eagle) can live to 40-50 years.

Australian Sulphur Crested Cockatoos can live over 100 years. I'm not sure about African Greys, as WIMH used to own one maybe she can answer.

OK if my pic works it's of the beautiful cockatoos on my balcony in Sydney. (All you aussies maybe can guess what suburb)

My little cockatiel- the tiny thing on my avatar can live up to 25-30 years.

No they aren't mine they are wild birds just visiting. Thats why they are so happy, they got a crop filled with sunflower seeds and some fresh water. I couldnt stand to see them getting hungry during the drought. They repaid me by eating that wooden beam across the top to shreds, leaving a mess and pooping all over my table.
