I need to create a slide show of 700+ photos with dissolve transitions that will be burned on to a DVD. Does any one have a production house they could recommend? Many thanks.

It's pretty easy to do that yourself. Windows movie maker can do it, as can Nero Vision.

Yep, I have tried Windows Movie Maker. Can also add supers and titles, audio, including dissolves and other effects.

Yes, yes, all true but you are limited to 99 photos -- I have almost 800.

Why don't you simply use Power Point??

Powerpoint can do that... Or Macromedia Director, even Macromedia Flash.

I'm pretty sure the file is too large to burn at home and I know with the dissolves it'll put me over the 120 mins of a DVD - R. If I get desperate I suppose I can split it into two disks -- but I'm trying very much to offload some of my work, not create more. I need a professional video production house.

700 photos at let's say 1 MB each will be 700 MB, right? So no problem.

And you can reduce the size of the pictures if needed.

As for the time spent, you can just copy each picture on a different page, then have random effects. That should do it.

Professionals? I don't know any. Did you try yellow pages?

A friend of mine used to work at this company. I'm sure they could do it, but no idea how much it would cost.

ps. Adobe Premiere and Womble Mpeg Video Wizard could both handle high volumes of pictures. Mpeg Video Wizard is substantially cheaper than Premiere.

Have not consulted the Buying Guide, was hoping for a recommendation from someone before I shop around. No worries -- I dropped it off at fotohub today. Not sure what the results will be but at least its off my desk. Thanks.

Hi, Kinda late reply...but nevertheless....

Do you pictures need to have a high resolution if not you can reduce the size like what Carpe Diem mentioned.

If there are no video/ audio, it will take up even less space. you need just simple fade-ins and outs? Well, I've some free time on weekends; 8-) if you are not in a hurry, I can do it for you. You can pay me any amount as you like.
