What district is closest for easy travel to Beach Rd?

Post by kidspat » Sun, 26 Feb 2006 12:37 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm coming to singapore for work; which is located on Beach Road (i believe the closest MRT line is EW11 or EW12) what is the best district for me to look at for good living & close to MRT (walking distance) to get to beach road?

I hope to get a 2 bedroom condo, opt for the serviced appartment if its viable for the long term (any thoughts?)

Thanks for your help/info :)

You can look into District 07 (Bugis) or District 09 (Orchard), another place is District 15 (East Coast), where is also closeby to Beeach Road (But no MRT), we would recommend a private apartment if you are looking for a long-term stay, as it is relatively cheaper than a Serviced Apartment and also a condominium will provide more space to a serviced apartment.

You can contact our Leasing Department at +65 61000 300 or email: [email protected] for further assistance on your housing needs.

Joop, Eric..

Thanks for the replies.. Joop i'll drop an email to the enquires line, but i am hoping to get something around the $1500 mark / furnished? i only need 2 bedrooms is that enough or will it be hard to find something in bugis/orchard at those prices.

After looking at the map it would even be walkable from bugis to work :D

Thanks for your help

Lavendar and Bugis MRT are the nearest... in bugis there are lots of facilities and there are condo and private houses which are located near to the MRT station.

I recommend bugis.

You guys obviously don't know your Singapore geography very well. Orchard is inaccessible and very expensive, and apartments in Bugis do not come with many facilities.

The nearest decent condos with full facilities (pool, gym, tennis courts, etc) near Beach Road will be around the Lavender, Farrer Park, and Boon Keng areas. Some aren't finished consruction yet but there are some who are. Check it out with your agent.

If you are willing to pay slightly more for your rent, condos in the Novena area is a good choice with 2 huge supermarkets, shopping malls, gyms, restaurants, food courts, and lots of expats living around the area. And only a 7 minute drive to Beach Road via Lavender Road. Your agent will probably suggest this area as the rents are higher and he/she gets a higher comm.
