Hi Dear, there is a water test... Im an ex silkair crew, just left MI last dec. If is still the same as my time"2005", There should be 4 rounds of interviews, the 3rd round is the water test... All u have to do is to jump dwn from a mocked aircraft "at SIA training centre" abt 2nd storey of a HDB flat n swim... And all of u will be wearing life jacket too... Only those selected will asked to swim on that afternoon, if u fail e interview in the morning they will ask u to leave... Dun worry ladies, the water test is easy... If u cant do this part then i think u dun even need to go for the interview... Coz if u got in u will have to go thru e First Aids training, the Safety training, service training, Grooming all these... GD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU, TRY UR BEST N THERE WILL BE NO REGRETS.... Dun give up too easily, me myself i went for the interview twice then i got in... Feel free to post any ques and i will try my best to help u guys... CHEERS...

so u mean the whole interview session is not carried out in a day? well in this case we do have to bring our own swimming costume over for the test?

No. There will be 4 rds of interview. The water test will be on the 3rd round. Letter will be send to ur home and if it they ask u to bring ur swimming gear that means there will be a water test that round. But as i said not all will be selected for the water test. Only if u pass the morning interview that day if not u will ask to leave after the 1st round in the morning.

The bond signing will be months before training, or only when we started training?

Yes it was 15 months from the date we started flying. A lot of things have changed now. The bond signing is usually a few weeks before training starts. Never over a month.

Really depends on them. If they feet like going to work wearing a french twist, they will. Or tomorrow they will tie a ponytail. The week after, they feel like having a bun. Really flexible, as long as they abide by the grooming rules.
