Think for now, they dont conduct this round during the interview...
But u cant escape one during training later on...
I've always fear this before i want to apply for this position initially..
But i overcome my fear by regularly going to swimming pool every weekend and well it helps...Besides u will be given life jacket before u jump in the water...
The only fear i have now is, getting reject again

no printing of application form, on the actual day the application will be on the table, fill in then pass to the admin to register. Wait for your name to be call join the group, go inside the room and follow the instruction by the interviewer(silkair).

All the best

[quote="ppinky_ddolly"]is ther still any water test for interview?[

Hi Dear, there is a water test... Im an ex silkair crew, just left MI last dec. If is still the same as my time"2005", There should be 4 rounds of interviews, the 3rd round is the water test... All u have to do is to jump dwn from a mocked aircraft "at SIA training centre" abt 2nd storey of a HDB flat n swim... And all of u will be wearing life jacket too... Only those selected will asked to swim on that afternoon, if u fail e interview in the morning they will ask u to leave... Dun worry ladies, the water test is easy... If u cant do this part then i think u dun even need to go for the interview... Coz if u got in u will have to go thru e First Aids training, the Safety training, service training, Grooming all these... GD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU, TRY UR BEST N THERE WILL BE NO REGRETS.... Dun give up too easily, me myself i went for the interview twice then i got in... Feel free to post any ques and i will try my best to help u guys... CHEERS...

Dear all Ex Silkair crew....may i know how much is the range for basic pay, and what will the average income (after adding all the allowances) be?

I had been offer a post as FA with Silkair, but still pending on medical check. As i m from Malaysia, relocate to SG cost me alot, especially on the rental side. I would like to know after that i had minus all the expenses, how much can i save monthly.....thanks.

From the bottom of my heart, A LITTLE. Rental in SG is damn EXPENSIVE. For a room could cost you the minimin of $300 - If you're getting those ulu places.
Near the airport, could fetch a rental of $500 sometimes not even included other bills.. Pay wise. AVERAGE: $2500. Food, transport etc. NOT CHEAP!

The basic is only abt $1k, but on average u'll be able to get abt $2.6k, includin all the allowances. since ur a malaysian, wz no cpf deductions, u'll take-home the whole sum. ur salary will differ accordin to e flts tt ur rostered, but at least, wif no MCs or leave, u'll be able to get tt sum. my highest salary ever taken was abt $3.3k, but its all hard work.

As to how much u'll be able to save, tt im afraid u'll hv to calculate urself cos i wont noe how much shoppin u like to do. but i can tell u tt workin in silkair can help u save alot of $$$, if ur not a big spender. cos out of e 7 days, u work 5 days, and these 5 days allows u to hv ur free meals onboard. no matter am/pm or overnite flt, short/long flt, u definitely can eat ur full cos got 2 sectors of meals and plenty of bread. i often end up spendin no $$$ on meals for a few days. and when u start flyin, u'll find out there r other ways to cut ur daily expenses too (not gd for mi to teach u the bad habits here). on top of tt, u gotta be hardworkin enough to chge out of ur uniform and take a bus home, no matter how tired u are, instead of wat alot of crew does, take taxi. so all in all, u juz nn to spend most of ur salary on ur rental and transportation only.

Summore u'll hv bonus, which is very substantial, since silkair gets e same as SIA, and 13th month annual wage supplement.

But my advice to u is tt u shld tink of whether u are goin to survive the 15mths bond, handle the bitchy seniors and hectic roster, rather than worry abt how much u'll save. cos flight stewardess definitely earn a comfortable pay, notwithstanding budget carriers, its juz a matter of discipline.
