I had been offer a post as FA with Silkair, but still pending on medical check. As i m from Malaysia, relocate to SG cost me alot, especially on the rental side. I would like to know after that i had minus all the expenses, how much can i save monthly.....thanks.
The basic is only abt $1k, but on average u'll be able to get abt $2.6k, includin all the allowances. since ur a malaysian, wz no cpf deductions, u'll take-home the whole sum. ur salary will differ accordin to e flts tt ur rostered, but at least, wif no MCs or leave, u'll be able to get tt sum. my highest salary ever taken was abt $3.3k, but its all hard work.
As to how much u'll be able to save, tt im afraid u'll hv to calculate urself cos i wont noe how much shoppin u like to do. but i can tell u tt workin in silkair can help u save alot of $$$, if ur not a big spender. cos out of e 7 days, u work 5 days, and these 5 days allows u to hv ur free meals onboard. no matter am/pm or overnite flt, short/long flt, u definitely can eat ur full cos got 2 sectors of meals and plenty of bread. i often end up spendin no $$$ on meals for a few days. and when u start flyin, u'll find out there r other ways to cut ur daily expenses too (not gd for mi to teach u the bad habits here). on top of tt, u gotta be hardworkin enough to chge out of ur uniform and take a bus home, no matter how tired u are, instead of wat alot of crew does, take taxi. so all in all, u juz nn to spend most of ur salary on ur rental and transportation only.
Summore u'll hv bonus, which is very substantial, since silkair gets e same as SIA, and 13th month annual wage supplement.
But my advice to u is tt u shld tink of whether u are goin to survive the 15mths bond, handle the bitchy seniors and hectic roster, rather than worry abt how much u'll save. cos flight stewardess definitely earn a comfortable pay, notwithstanding budget carriers, its juz a matter of discipline.
