Either you have misunderstood or your trainer's English is need of urgent remedial action.merra wrote:Hi

It's true that a FSS can't get pregnant until she have reached a leading ranking. If one still gets pregnant, she would have to resign. If she wants to fly with the same company again, she has to start all over again, which includes training like any other new crew.

You have me a little puzzled here, are we talking about SIA as the OP was?singaporegrrl wrote:It's true that a FSS can't get pregnant until she have reached a leading ranking. Secondly when you say a leading rank do you mean that of LSS and above which as I understand is only achieved by a few who remain with the airline for a considerable number of years whereas a good number never rise above the rank of FSS. In recent years I have met two FSS that I remember well one had been with SIA for 5 years and the other 8.
Look forward to hearing your answer.

Thank you for the information Singaporegrrl, that I was not aware of so in short; if you join SIA you cannot start a family if you one chooses to remain at FSS level. That is an appalling, outdated and discriminatory manner of employment as far as I and many other westerners are concerned. My opinion is employers in Singapore had better learn to start modifying a few things hasta-pronto.

Hey ashie! Just try your luck on the next recruitment yah. Never give up. If you don't get through, don't be too sad coz there might be something you could learn from. You'll get through someday. You can do it!ashie wrote:Wow! I know I'm like a month late but who cares. Congrats singapore girl!
