Hey BellaConsuela,

After knowing you've went for Silkair 8 times but still didnt get through, is kinda sad but luckily you've finally made your mark and got into JQ! That's great news for anyone who inspires to be a CC! =)

Hope you'll do great in training!

And I hope I could be like you one day as well...Get to be a CC~ =(

hi MademoiselleCher! Long time no news from u yeah..
as you mentioned Silkair is recruiting madly coz when i was at the silkair interview they mentioned that hopefuls could start training as soon as 3 weeks after the first interview if u make it. and i know a few of my silkair and SQ frens are also leaving end of the year. For me I guess my luck lies with Jetstar but i guess if u have passion to be a CC whichever airline you're flying for it doesnt matter. So keep on trying and trying ya! Wish u lots and lots of luck. :)

Yes long time since I last posted in forums but I do monitor and also envy you girls for being able to get in and all...

Felt a lil' sian due to the failed attempts but never mind, I shall look out for the next Silkair or JQ interview and try again if it doesnt fails on week days... hee

Soo when are you gonna start training? Bet it'll be really fun for you all! =))

MademoiselleCher : theres an upcoming JQ recruitment, go the JQ thread to see!

about tying up the hair into bun, wearing office attire, not really true, cuz i tied my hair up into a perfect bun and wore formal wear and still didnt get through to the 2nd round.
and its also not about the introduction.

its just about luck and whether they take a liking to you. just my own opinions.

yup! keep trying and trying and never give up! and what bbekandy is saying below is also true. bun no bun, skirt or pants, perfect intro, bad intro...and when u see the chosen girls collectively they all have different attributes..its just so weird! its all down to your luck on that day i guess...my training with 3k is gonna start on 15 nov..bbekandy is already successfully with JQ and she'll be starting training as well..so yeah we are living proof that u should never give up! heheh. yup and JQ having another walk-in so go go for it!

Hi Bbekandy,

Yeah that's why I told XueEn even though I spoke well, dressed formal and smiled like I never did before...Still failllll... =((

But hmm just gotta try everything and anything to "make" the ladies at Silkair like us, I suppose? haha...

Being been through the interview twice, it's really quite obvious that the interviewers "observe" people to their liking~ I've seen it for myself!

1 malay girl walked in with all the interviewers' eyes on her and poof! She was into the next round~ Haiz...Maybe I just lack the "pleasing" look they want~ lol!

But I do look pleasing as in most of my friends, colleagues and bosses all like me too...Sooo hmm I don't blame myself for the looks! it's the problem that lies with those "ladies"~ hehe
Never Say Never! :)

MademoiselleCher wrote:Hi Xue En,

Congrats to you for being able to get through to last round..Based on what you've mentioned for the interivew, I've tried it as well...Haiz some girls did a really good intro too but failed round 1 too...

It's really quite demoralising but maybe it's due to my height factor as well..I went for the interview for a total of 2 times already, missed the 3rd which is most recent one cuz I couldnt apply for leave to attend..

Regarding attire, both times I was wearing shirt n pants v.formal but I did not bun up my hair and I did noticed girls wearing shirt n skirt with hair tied in bun were chosen...Perhaps this is a good tip for others out there as well!

Hmmm both SIA n Silkair are recruiting madly now as if you noticed...Whenever there is a SIA one coming up, the Silkair will follow probably turnover rate is very high now...The latest SIA interview is 6 November so Silkair's is probably gonna be near that time as well and I think I will take up your tips and try again cuz I really wanna work as a cabin crew... =)

All in all...Good luck to you for the management round n congrats again to all who've finally fulfilled their dreams of becoming a cabin crew~
hi, MademoiselleCher. I also want to go for a try, can you advise the walk in interview timing once they annouce. So 6 Nov will you join the SIA one?

I guess foreigners can try. It does say 'Singaporeans and permanent residents preferred', but I only know of Malaysians who have applied and got in. Most importantly is that you're able to get a work permit.

I'm not exactly sure what's bow-legged like, but i think it shouldn't affect so long as you still look alright. As for training, it's in Singapore. It's another airlines that is based in Dubai that requires you to be trained there as well. Silkair is a Singapore based airlines.
