Hi,

Noticed some1 asking about pay in a prev post. Just to share, I met this girl who was accepted in2 silkair and she told me the pay isn't really what she expected and she was pretty shocked that it's that range. Basically, SQ pays alot alot better I guess thats why she was trying out for SQ when I met her. She was really good though...by now think she shld have been accepted into SQ as she was 1 of the 3 outof 8 tt got through the 1-1 round (i was sadly booted out). Well, if she happens 2 read this and kinda know who I am, I wanna say congrats to her :) .

From what I know, it's about $2000. You will work about 6 days a week with 4 turnarounds every working day. Thats what the girl who was offered a silkair position told me.

4 turnarounds is only once or twice per mth. Fly for 80 plus hours / month = $2.4-$2.7k take home pay after cpf deduction. 5 working days.

SilkAir Final Round Interview- 5 Oct 2010.

Post by XueEn » Fri, 01 Oct 2010 1:45 am

Hello Guys,

I'm going for my final round for Silkair on 5 Oct 2010. Anyway got in?
Infact, I would say please go and try and try. The interviewer are nice and they do remember faces. This is my 2nd try for silkair and they actually recognise me. The first time I went and there is this girl who tried for 7 times. The interviewer let her in for the next round.
Guys, here a few tips to share when you are doing your intro for the first round. Remember, be yourself, i mean, be your "best" self.

1) Greet every one, I mean both interviewer and interviewees.
2) Smile with confident, take a deep breath and speak.
3) Talk things that is relevant and to help you when you are doing your intro. What I mean is those key words must be in.
4) Eyes contact with the interviewer.

My introduction was rather long, but I did say out all the key words like service orientated, learning new things, team spirit, travel around the world.... and etc.

Cheers,
Xue En

Hi Ecandy, Are you a silkair cabin crew? Do you know how long is the training session for silkair? Do you know the requirement for silkair to go to SIA after two years servicing? =)

Hi Dear,

Congrats in getting thru the final round, hope youll get in! :) Actually what u mentioned is all true and correct..well let me tell u I tried for silkair i think this is my 8th time and I managed to get into management round during my first ever try but failed consecutively after that. they do recognize my face and let me tell u i said all the keywords too and all those things u mentioned..im well groomed have good skin ok acceptable weight..i think i look ok, more than ok in fact...but its also down to luck..and whether they like your face and i believe age plays a part too...i believe u are still quite young? 19-23 year old range? Coz my fren currently in silkair mentioned that all the new batch girls are all around this age range..Well i wont be trying out for silkair anymore coz after 7 times and at 26 years old its pretty demoralizing and i guess my luck lies in Jetstar Asia after all!
but good luck to u and do update us about your experience with the final round ya!

Hi Babe,
Care to share what is the management round question? They mention that I shall wear dress to knee cap length instead of pants, skirts and long dress. I really don't know what type of dress to wear to flatter me. Sight. Btw, you can always try for SIA and I won't be trying if I did not get into Silk air this time. The interviewer gives me a chance to get into the final round and I'm grateful with it. This is the furthest they can help. Final round is really up to the management to decide.
For the age wise, SIA take in girl who is less than 29 year old. Silk air I don't know. May be as what you had mentioned, 19 to 23 years old. But one important thing I need to point out for girls who are trying Silkair, the first important question they asked me was: "are you working now?”

Hi Xue En,

On the final round day, youll have to go through the uniform round. Just wear the uniform and they'll check your face arms legs and back. If you pass that, then on to the management round. There'll be like 4-5 upper management peeps and basically its the same as round 1 where u just intro and talk about yourself. btw this will be done in front of all the other girls who are selected on that day also. After that its just a short mingle session. from there, they will let u know whether u have been selected or not via email a few days later..
The interview might have changed the last time i was at the management round so Im not sure if its still the same...
btw im not so keen on SIA as it will require me to be away from my family for long periods of time..coz im already married. btw ill be starting training with jetstar asia in november so yup!
Good Luck to u ya, and tell us all about it. :)

Hi Xue En,

Congrats to you for being able to get through to last round..Based on what you've mentioned for the interivew, I've tried it as well...Haiz some girls did a really good intro too but failed round 1 too...

It's really quite demoralising but maybe it's due to my height factor as well..I went for the interview for a total of 2 times already, missed the 3rd which is most recent one cuz I couldnt apply for leave to attend..

Regarding attire, both times I was wearing shirt n pants v.formal but I did not bun up my hair and I did noticed girls wearing shirt n skirt with hair tied in bun were chosen...Perhaps this is a good tip for others out there as well!

Hmmm both SIA n Silkair are recruiting madly now as if you noticed...Whenever there is a SIA one coming up, the Silkair will follow probably turnover rate is very high now...The latest SIA interview is 6 November so Silkair's is probably gonna be near that time as well and I think I will take up your tips and try again cuz I really wanna work as a cabin crew... =)

All in all...Good luck to you for the management round n congrats again to all who've finally fulfilled their dreams of becoming a cabin crew~
Never Say Never! :)
