Just try lahh~

Post by skalite » Mon, 01 Sep 2008 2:57 pm

i think if anyone is siting behind your comp/lappies thinking whether you shld try or not. Just do it. I was once like that not knowing if they wld accept me or not. I got a bad habit of biting and picking my nails. Believe me, my nails are bad. But i've kicked that habit and i manage to get tru all the rounds first time. :D

Some tips i hope that can help to get tru the first few rounds.
1) Wear something presentable- preferably no jeans/ mini skirts or clubbing wear (Yes, there are some who wears that)
2) Smile and keep smiling. But don't give the 'act cute smile'
3) K.I.S.S - Keep it simple. sayang (or stupid) : meaning if they questioned about why you want to be an air stewardess? DON'T tell them your life story, Don't say that it's your childhood dream. Be realistic and honest- bt not too honest. Short and sweet.
4) Be sincere in what you have to say, not read it off some where.
5) Don't shoot yourself in the foot by saying the wrong things or babble too much. Believe me, when you are under pressure, you have say things u regret. Relax and stay calm.

Be confident, try not to expect too much. Just go ahead and have fun!
If you get tru the 1-1 interview and may have said the wrong things like 'Silkair goes to HK' Apologized and admit that you have made a mistake cuz i stupidly did that and still gt through. :) Oh. And smile.

Ok! I hope this help. GOOD LUCK GIRLS!

hey girls,

im keen on going for the interview but the thing is, im still studying right now and will only graduate in dec (totally cannot commit anything from now till mid-dec cuz this last term of school is super hectic!). should i go for the interview now or wait for the next one (after i graduate)? suppose i went now and got selected (haha), can i only start my training in dec/jan next year?

regardless, i dont mind going to 'try try' this fri and see how things go. anyone wanna go on fri together? i was thinking early... maybe 9am/10am hehe :)

from what i know, silk air does not hold the contracts for long. if you need more than 1 month notice, i guess your chance will be lower than those who can commit immediately...

silk air's interview is similiar to SQ's interview. it also consist of 4 stages, but the sequence is diff. stage 1 (group interview) and stage 2 (1-1 interview) is being held on he same day. as for the other 2 stages (uniform fitting and skin check, and management round) , it will be held on another day at the airport.

training is approx 3 mths.

Hi ladies, i'm an ex MI full time crew. I left last yr and now im back again with them as freelance crew. Only Silkair recruit ex-crew or flying mummy who wan to earn some extra cash or for ppl like me who just wan to fly on their free time. I joined them at 2005, left dec 2007 due to work stress n really need a break. Yes, Silkair only do turnaround, we dun nightstop, no sight seeing, no shopping. And i agree with some of the ex silkair crew here that e enviroment here are not easy to adapt but u have to understand all girls enviroment are always difficult. Evrywher is e same.

So gals out there, dont be afraid by all e negative post here. Trust me there are still nice crew here. When i just started flying in 2005, E first 6 months was really not easy. I told myself many times to leave, just pay the bond $6500 (at my time) and gd bye. But i believe that i can make it, i told myself that just for 15 months after my bond i will leave. But after 15 months, i continued. I stay with them for 3 yrs after and after i left for 3 months, i called MI office again and told them tat i wanna come back as freelance. So now im back again.

I know that there's a interview coming up on the 6th, GD LUCK to all those trying. And for those who still cant make up your mind, just an advise, u can treat MI as a stepping stone and if u can survive here, u CAN definitely make it else wher in future. Dont regret when u get old.

Ok that's abt all. Got to go rest now, still got flight tomolo. Feel free to msg me if u gals got any Question. Will try my best to help if i can k. Bye, GOOD LUCK...

caryssa, the 3nd and 4rd round-cum-tea party will not be held on the next day. cos they would gather all the girls who made it thru on all three days and then hold the next two interviews altogether. dont worry, just be confident and smile all the way=)

fatty, there is no swimming test. i'm not sure about the timing of the lessons as MI has not confirmed with me my timetable =)

hope these helps....
