Any PR's here planning or have already bought a flat (be it HDB or
condo) here in Singapore?? I just thought that it's a good investment specially if were staying here with our the family in which we are renting out the whole place so better we are paying for the flat of our own..than paying rent because I'm thinking that we are just paying for the owner/landlord's monthly installment for the house...
If ever, have any idea in buying re-sale flats here??

You are right, the amount of rent you paying can easy cover the instalment for HDB. End of the day, the flat is yours.

I am also PR (married to a Singaporean) and looking at buying an HDB. I found the HDB website rather confusing. What is the best way to approach this? I figure that we have a bit more to consider compared to 2 Singaporeans buying an HDB.
Any PR in the same situation willing to share some experience? PM me if you like.

Look in the Straitimes classified. Of course, before that, u have to check your financial status (dont over commit), and also discuss which location/estate both of you prefered etc. Not too complicated i think.
The HDB website is a mess if u ask me :p
good luck!

I'm a PR married to a local and that is exactly what I did back in Jan '99. Bought a 5I 4 br resale with 1st time buyers grant and parents living with us grant. Payment are the same as what I was paying Premas for a black & white in Seletar at the time. (only 14 year mortage) will be paid off in 7 years. Free rent even if I sell it at what I paid plus interest. (Bought it a the absolute bottom of the financial crisis with regard to
property prices - it bottomed out in Jan '99 and then started rebounding. It's still worth more that what I paid for it.

I have a friend who's 23 years old, single, PR, and just started working recently. What would be the best option/recommendation/advice ?

Single PR cant buy a HDB flat, even if its resale.
can buy
condo if he/she have the financial means though.
If not get married to a singapore spouse and then can get a resale flat together.
If not then rent a room or a flat.
Not much choices I guess.

My battery would go flat in about 3 weeks with no riding. I rewired the UI to allow me to unplug it. Problem solved. So maybe they pull a little more...

Buying a property, what are the chances the tenant will move?
First post
If you buy a property that's tenanted, what are the chances that the tenant will move? What's a fair compensation to the tenant?
Last post
It depends on the TA wording and remaining lease.
If TA does not address sale of property then you have to rely on the TA cancellation of lease...
