If it's a walk-in interview so why not try even you do no meet the requirement. No harm trying.

Shreked, grow up. There is harm in trying and wasting time and disilusioning people.

I have a job as Exec VP Marketing open at my (where I work) company now - please come in for an interview. You must have an MBA (Mktg or Bus.) and a minimum of 15 years experience in the IT field, preferably in Network Security Managment in APAC and speak English, Mandarin and Japanese fluently.

You finished High School, are 20 years old and can speak English and Hokkien?
Oso can, lah. Try, try maybe have luck, issit? Walk in interview, sure, not!

You are NOT helping anyone by making them feel inadequate when they fail - and if they don't meet the minimum requirements they WILL fail.

Me too. I also send in my application for Silkair. But till now there's no news or reply from them yet. But as what i hear from my friend say that actually they already send out to those peoples who are shortlisted. Although their website say closing date is by 20th February 2006. But yet they have already send out quite early for those peoples who have been shortlisted. Since they already have send it out. Perhaps we really dont stand any more chance.

Is this your first time applying for SilkAir? If you ever also did go for their walk in before that, they wont accept from those peoples who have go for a walk in. Yup of course you can apply for SIA. They did say that they are recruiting for 'A', 'O' Level and a Diploma.

But preferences will be given to those who know how to speak foreign languages or customer service. You can also see their website for more information. (if you are still not quite sure about it)

Thank for your advice chai ching.. This is my first time applying for SilkAir. Umm.. I have exp in customer service.. Can I ask if you will be going for the SIA walk-in recruitment ? :D

Hi Shreked,

Thanks for your kind words and encouraging me to go and have a try! But i know that its really impossible one. Anyway, thank you again so much! Sorry for causing you get into an arugements juts because of my asking this stuipd question. Cuz i know that its totally impossible one. But i just cant accept the facts.

Shreked wrote:If you are brave to go, the first impression that they have on you is your confidence. As for me, if i have completed my NS by now, i would immediately go for it even though i have only an 'O' Level cert. Just gain some experience from the interview.

Yup i know about these airlines also. I also did ever try for Qatar, Emirates & Gulf Air before that. So i will still continue to keep on trying for other airlines which you mention. I know that all these airlines are totally different from SIA. Cuz other airlines are not that so strict about some of the particular things. Only SIA is that so strict about it.

Am i right about that?

Hi,

So sorry for you reply. Didnt know and see that you reply back to me. My Pleasure to share these information for you. No problem at all. Since i hear from my friend so thought of sharing it with you. Hey couldnt be mah. Since its your first time applying for SilkAir, they should send you invitation to ask you for an interview.

Mostly only for those first timer one, most probably will receive it. Oops.... did i also tell you about this things. If i ddint tell you that, sorry about that. I miss out. Then how about you? Will you go and have a try for SIA? Will you be going alone by yourself? Sorry, you say what cert you have now?

I only have an 'N' Level Cert. So do you think i can go and apply for it? At first i also did thought of trying for applying. But think it should be impossible one. Right or not?

If you think only SIA is stringent about their applications, you have a surprise waiting....

Basic points to remember are to have the preferred educational certs, to be able to stay calm in water and to be able to 'digest info quickly'..regurgitated or otherwise.

Quite correct Tiki, as Vaucluse, Saint, and myself keep pointing out meaning no malice to anyone but I am afraid your words will likely go unheeded since that is what so often happens in this section.

Plavt.

Ps:Even the excellent post by oNe will be ignored for sure.

They do happen, so you might win a big 4D - so why work? just wait for it to happen.

Great advice, Shereked.

As good as anything you have ever written, you are a genius with your feet formly planted on the ground.
