Housing in Singapore

I am 30-year old single male and going to relocate to Singapore without dependant and require to find the suitable apartment.

I am looking for the room within the budget of S$1,000 with the following requirements:

1. at most 10-15 mins walks to the nearest MRT station of North South line or East West Line;
2. I prefer to share the apartment with the other tenants to minimize the rental and know more friends;
3. The apartment with required furniture and the Internet connection will be preferred;
4. The apartment surrounded by clear and quite environment will be necessary.

With the above requirements, can anybody give me some suggestion that which area I should look for the apartment or the website I can surf. Thanks for the help.
