Change from Work Permit to Employment Pass

Post by Guest284 » Wed, 28 Jul 2004 8:26 pm

My husband is a Post Grad. in Chem and he is on a Work Permit for 4 years, inspite of being in the Management Cadre. He does not meet the new salary criteria to get an EP. How is it possible for him to get an EP? We are married this year and I'm unable to stay with him as he is on a Permit. Will be glad if anyone can guide me.

Also, I would like to know the prospects for Montessori Teaching in Singapore. Can I seek employment in a Primary School there?

The MOM is actually quite helpful if you take the time to go down to their offices and talk to one of their officers.

My suggestion is you go with your husband and plead your case to them - They may also be able to arrrange a Long Term Social Visit Pass instead of a Dependants Pass.

Hope this helps.

Change from Work Permit to Employment Pass...Reply

Many thanks for the reply. I had been there to Singapore in May on a SVP and had my Visa extended upto early July. Hence, I had to return to my home country. My husband though is there. Since we had no clue how to go about doing things we didnt try while I was there. I would like to go back now, I want to know if there is a possibility of me coming there and will I get an extension?

Thank you once again for the reply.

NP thats waht the forums for...

Ask your husband to go and check for you - Make sure one on one with the MOM interview staff is your best bet.

I have friends who have had similiar problems and they seemed to gte through OK.

Best of luck.

hello,

Mim Salary for EP is 3500 ( as per MOM ) but sometime 3K earner also gets EP ( exceptions) i guess you husband earns much higher than this stated figures. So check with MOM about possible upgrade to EP. I wonder if he ever tried for PR ?
