where to live in Singapore??!!

i'm moving to singapore for work soon and the office is in Tuas, which after looking at the maps is on the far west coast in the middle of nowhere.

i will be catching public transport so think i should find a place to stay on the EW MRT line, somewhere between Tiong Bahru and Lakeside. There are some nice condos further from town closer to Tuas, but will I be missing out on a social life out there?

I'm 30 yrs old and single so don't want to limit my social life by being so far from town. What is life like out near Chinese Gardens??

I have a pretty good package so cost of travel and accommodation is not the only consideration....the time spent on public transport is more of an issue, and a decent social life is also a major consideration.

I work in Tuas for more then 5years...Not a big problem as I stays in the East. I enjoy the rides from East to west every working day!
Never miss any big events too!

Good food great clubs around.

There is A JEC nearby..and dont miss the MEga shop...IMM!

ive got a friend working in tuas as well... he lived in chinese garden.

he got no problem so far with the public transportation.

there's 2 nice condos around. the mayfair or the park oasis.
